My passion for graphic design, crafting, and cooking began to blossom at an early age. I would often quiz my parents and friends on typography found on the street or in a printed piece. I found color and paper just as fascinating. I would spend many hours being entertained by color, paper, and fabric on my makeshift 4x8’ plywood worktable.
This passion was refined at Iowa State University, where I earned a BFA in Graphic Design and Marketing and picked up an affinity toward squirrels, particularly the grey squirrel. After graduation I left the great state of Iowa, to pursue a career in graphic design with Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Kansas City. After three and a half years with Hallmark, I decided it was time for a change and joined the Staples Promotional Products team as an Art Director in the corporate marketing division. I get to design websites, products and packaging for clients, corporate marketing publications and other internal goodness. And to keep me on my toes, I entered into the Master of Arts Design Management program at the University of Kansas in 2009.
I love crafting and have dreams of opening a handmade shop of my own someday… but right now I’m having too much fun exploring new materials, methods, and new crafting items! This blog is a space for me to share what I am working on as well as reflection of things that provide inspiration for me today.
Please feel free to take a look around and let me know what you think!
