Pink?

Happy early Valentine’s Day to all of the lovers out there. A couple weeks ago I had planned a give/receive guide for the holiday, but clearly that didn’t get done. Instead, I’m going to admit a little secret that I’ve been holding in for a while now that is somewhat holiday appropriate: I’m starting to like pink. Gasp! Do you know how hard it was for me to admit in public?

I’ve had a lot of disdain for pink in the past 5+ years, which was probably a reaction to the overuse of brown and pink circa 2005. For the past five years, I used the color sparingly and only when absolutely necessary. But I can’t help it, the color is growing on me. Now, just to clarify, I will not be painting walls or decorating in pink anytime soon. I am by no means a pink-lover, but I am admitting to it has a dynamic nature and a certain je ne sais quoi that no other color can claim. So let’s start this pink party as an accent color only, okay?

Of course this will come as no surprise to my lovely friend, Dayle, who is probably the only person that has even come close to understanding my fickle, neurotic character. I admitted this to her under absolutely secrecy about 6 months ago or longer. She saw it coming.
