016 | Wallpaper Wednesday

For the return of Wallpaper Wednesday, I thought I'd put out something a little more light-hearted that I borrowed from our Photo Art Director...

Claudia Kotchka

You know one of those common questions that are asked of you in interviews and what not. Well, I've never known how to answer, this one: "If you could have dinner with any person dead or alive who would it be?
Tonight I think I found my answer: Claudia Kotchka.

Olive + Granny Smith

This season I'm really into deep colors as neutrals, think navy, olive, plum, etc. Here's a palette inspired by my afternoon snack... the granny smith apple!

Happy Fall!

As of this minute, it is officially Fall! This Fall I'm looking forward to stepping on crunchy leaves, apple cider from my hometown orchard, jewel tones, tall boots and flowering mums.

For you and yours

Valspar offers an online quiz to find your couple style and offers paint color suggestions based on your answers. Although I'm not sure how accurate it is... I took it with my boyfriend (after assuring him it was not a Cosmo quiz) and it gave us "Relaxed" as a result. Color-wise it might be pretty close with blues, pale greens, and greys, but old rose? No thank you. Also, it's either ridiculously intuitive or lucky because it mentions our "eco-conscious style" in the results, although neither of us answered with eco-conscious answers.
What's your couple style?

Relaxed:
You're in perfect harmony when it comes to your eye for the simple yet functional. When it comes to your home decor, eco-conscious style, like natural textures, tones and sustainable furnishings can play a big part. Take your love of the outdoors and find inspiration in nature, with warm neutrals.
Also, blues, pale greens, greys, old rose and cold purple complement your easy-going style. Check out Caraway Seed 3005-9C, Tender Shell 1006-10C, Sweet Mint 5005-5B, Baked Stone 3007-6B and Breezy 4007-7C.

Antiquing

Lately I've had an obsession for these fun aqua Ball jars, which match perfectly with the Martha Stewart blue recipe box. The top photo is a shelf I installed in the kitchen, the bottom is my office supply display from work.

And notice the cow theme...

Navy Bag

And last in the bag series is the tote. Again, it was made with navy linen and lined with Amy Butler fabric. It's been a nice big bag to carry study materials around in...

iPod Sock

Second in the bag series is this granny smith green felt iPod sock. The sock is complete with an elastic band on each side to hold earphones and my radio remote. This super simple solution keeps the iPod from scratching and the cords nice and tidy! I even did some topstitching in an aqua embroidery thread, for a little bit of extra color.

Navy Clutch

This navy clutch is the first of a series of bags that I created (a long time ago), but just haven't gotten around to posting... It's a made of navy linen with a chartreuse Amy Butler fabric as the lining.

I'm loving navy right now. Especially mixed with the chartreuse, aqua, and grey. In fact, if I were getting married anytime soon, these would be my wedding colors! (but don't get any ideas, I'm not getting married anytime soon... btw Congrats Jessie and Josh!)

From the garden

In an appropriate follow-up to my last post... here's a couple of pictures of what I recently picked from my container garden.

I can't wait to dig in! Also, after continuous aphid attacks, my peppers are about to be harvested!
