New Work: Staples Promotional Products 2012 Holiday Idea Book

It's that time of year... when retailers and those that market to the retail industry start plugging their holiday (Christmas) items. Which means I've been living in a holiday world for the past couple of months. I find this utterly delightful, I get to live the spirit of the season twice each year. You'll hear no complains in that regard from this lady!

I worked on the Art Direction and design for the holiday edition of our trend and idea starting book below. You can check out the 2012 Idea Book here. Again, I worked with the lovely Casey Dobbins as our awesome stylist, check out her new site for more visual candy.

2012 Staples Promotional Products Idea Book

2012 Staples Promotional Products Idea Book - Work done while at Staples Promotional Products
I'm so excited to share this project with you, it's Staples Promotional Products 2012 Idea Book. This is a new marketing/design piece for 2012 that is meant to showcase some of the really fun and trendy promotional products out there. I was on the team that saw the project through from the beginning to end, from the project concept to product selection to the art direction at the photo shoot and final production. I also had a chance to work with the very talented stylist, Casey Dobbins, on this piece who knocked the styling out of the park. It was a really fun project to work on and I'm excited it's finally printed!

New Looks Stop Motion

I get to work on a variety of projects for work, which is what I love most about my job. Below is a really fun project that a couple other Art Directors and I worked on for the launch of our 2012 collection for our proprietary apparel brand, Destinations. I traveled up to the lovely state of Iowa to shoot the stills with our photographers and then we pieced the music and images together internally.

Very fun project, I'm a lucky girl!

Service/Experience Design

Hello Blog Friends!
It’s been so long! I’ve been busy. Busy with grad school, but now we’re done for the semester and have been partying like we’re teenagers on the last day of high school. I was in a service/experience design class this semester and have to say it was my favorite class thus far in my graduate career. We had a very fun final project, partially because we had a kick-a$$ team, partially because the subject matter was just fun. So I’ve finally decided to share some images from our final project with the interwebs today.

Our focus was to explore the retail shopping area, research, discover, and design an innovative shopping experience for consumers. So without going through the entire project, here’s the eye candy!

Store concept equation: Co-creation + Local Production + Modern Technology = 21st Century Tailor

Exterior image, with large windows so you can see into the shopping, production, and showcase areas:

Interactive Wall that could welcome guests, highlight recent purchases or recent custom creations in our online and retail store, as well as project images and videos of recent trends in the fashion industry:

Interactive mirror, using the voice and gesture recognition technology, customers could design every detail of their clothing in the fitting room. From adjusting sleeve length, collar styles, pattern and color styles, buttons and other extra embellishments.

Interactive mirror, video chatting with another fitting room to get style input.
And the experience doesn’t end with trying the item on and receiving it in the mail, but instead a fun delivery truck will come to your house with the garment pressed and ready-to-wear!

It's that time of year... cookie time!

Invitations are out for our 3rd annual cookie party! I was really happy with the invites this year, I've wanted to do something more extravagant the past couple of years, but I always have a hard time pulling it off in time. This year the invitations came with a cute little cookie cutter and multi-page invitation all wrapped up with bakery thread!

After last year's huge extravaganza, we unfortunately had to cut back on the guest list. There just isn't enough room in our tiny little apartment. It should be fun regardless! We're even having a cookie decorating context with prizes!

Wedding Invitations for friends!

I wanted to share some wedding invitations that I've been working on for friends. They're having a garden wedding next May and wanted a casual, fun look. I came up with four different options based on their color palette and wedding elements. I had so much fun working on these invitations, I can't wait to refine them even more and work on the rest of the wedding elements!

Option 1: Casual
Option 2: Trendy
(folded, no envelope)
Option 3: Formal
Option 4: Modern Citrus
(they may be using citrus fruits in their floral arrangements)
